Privacy Policy

When a kid signs up we collect their name, email address, school and colony, plus the name, mobile number and email of a parent or guardian. If they upload a school ID for verification, that photo is kept in a private store that only Swpit admins can open. We also store the listings, photos and trade chats a kid creates, and any reports made on Swpit. Name, school and colony cannot be changed after signup.

Swpit is for ages 6 to 17. A kid cannot list items, request trades or chat until a parent or guardian has approved the account by clicking the private link we email to the parent. A parent must also approve every individual trade. A parent can withdraw approval, or ask for the account to be deleted, at any time from the same link in their email.

The optional face-scan age check runs entirely on the kid's own device. We never receive the photo or video. Only the estimated age number and a pass or fail result are sent to us. The estimate is only a rough guide and is never treated as proof of age; the school ID check and parent approval are what we rely on.

Data is used only to run Swpit: to show listings to other kids in the same colony or school, to run trades, to email kids and parents about trades and approvals, to filter phone numbers, links and unsafe language from chats, to review reports and to check that users are real students. We do not show ads, track kids across other sites, build behavioural profiles, or sell data to anyone.

A school ID photo is looked at once by a Swpit admin. After the ID is approved the photo is deleted from our storage; we keep only the fact that the kid was approved. If an ID is rejected, the kid can upload a new photo and the old one is replaced.

We keep an account's data while the account is active. When a parent or kid asks for deletion, the account, listings, photos, chat pictures and login are erased within 30 days. Weekly security backups are kept for up to 12 weeks, so a deleted account can remain in backups for that time and is then removed as the backups roll off. Backups are private and encrypted by our storage provider.

Data is stored with Supabase (database) and Cloudflare (hosting and backups). Kids' private details are hidden from other users by database rules. If we ever learn that personal data was exposed, we will email the parents affected and report it to the authorities as the law requires.

A parent or guardian can ask to see the data we hold about their child, correct it, withdraw consent, or have it deleted. Email hello@swpit.in from the parent's address, or use the link in the approval email.

Swpit uses only the essential cookies needed to keep a kid signed in and to remember that an invitation code was accepted. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
